These Japanese hi-grade , virgin-vinyl, extended-dynamic range vinyl pressings - while they were imported  in the 1970s and early 1980s - were audiophile and connoisseur delights  (we   have not  seen some of these titles in circulation in years – some of them are highly collectible). These majestic recordings received an  intense, meticulous and laborious treatment like very few other recordings did.   They are characterized by the boosted dynamic and frequency range, almost compulsive attention paid to the fine detail and integrity of the pressing and highest quality  of the material. Many of  these recordings remain unsurpassed, delivering music  reproduction as close to  the actual recording session as possible. In the best tradition of some of the major Japanese corporations -  such as RCA Victor Co. (Nippon),  Warner-Pioneer Corporation of Japan or EMI-Toshiba Corporation  -  the sound quality of the Japanese pressings is, generally,  truly extraordinary - much better, we firmly believe, than the corresponding first pressings of the albums in question.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire this great album in its finest audio format, no longer in print, and no longer easily obtainable.

The first Beatle solo album (actually, technically it was the second -- following Paul McCartney's 'The Family Way' Soundtrack in 1966 --op. ed.) -- as well as the first Apple album -- was a minor eruption of the pent-up energies of George Harrison, who was busy composing this offbeat score to the film Wonderwall as Magical Mystery Tour raced up the charts. With the subcontinental influence now firmly in the driver's seat, the score is mostly given over to the solemn, atmospheric drones of Indian music. Yet, as a whole, it's a fascinating if musically slender mishmash of sounds from East and West, everything casually juxtaposed or superimposed without a care in the world. Harrison himself does not appear as a player or singer; rather, he presides over the groups of Indian and British musicians, with half of the cues recorded in London, the other half in Bombay. The Indian tracks are professionally executed selections cut into film cue-sized bites, sometimes mixed up with a rock beat, never permitted to develop much. Touches of Harrison's whimsical side can be heard in the jaunty, honky tonk, tack piano-dominated "Drilling a Home" and happy-trails lope of "Cowboy Museum," as well as a title like "Wonderwall to Be Here." Occasionally, the overt footsteps of a Beatle can be heard: "Party Secombe" is a medium-tempo rock track that should remind the connoisseur of "Flying"; "Dream Scene" has Indian vocals moving back and forth between the loudspeakers over backwards electronic loops. As this and Harrison's second experimental release, Electronic Sound, undoubtedly proved, pigeonholing this Beatle was a dangerous thing.

(a)          THE VINYL IS ABSOLUTELY, PERFECTLY MINT,  as if never played before. The original luster is totally intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles like brand new. The labels look perfect, simply gorgeous, with absolutely no trace of wear around the spindle hole. The record is TOTAL PERFECTION - ABSOLUTE VISUAL NIRVANA! We are confident that, in this condition, the record we present here is truly once-in-a-lifetime find.

(b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           The record is pressed on a beautiful, high-quality, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.

(d)          The record comes in a hi-grade PVC inner sleeve, which has - apparently with success - shielded the record from the harmful impact of elements over many years!

(e)           The album comes with original Japanese-only 4-page insert.

(f)            The album also comes with the rare Japanese-only 'Wonderwall" poster in absolutely fantastic condition (probably never unfolded until now).

(g)          The album comes with its original Japanese OBI strip/ribbon

(h)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
