George Harrison : All Things Must Pass 1U 1st Press Box Set w/ Poster 1970
This classic album has to be the most stunning version I have ever found. It has hardly been played and every aspect of this box set has been so well preserved over the last 55 years. The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is stunning and there is no intrusion on any of the 6 sides. I have played every track in full (including the third disc!) and I cannot emphasise enough just how clean and precise the audio is, it a FINAL UPGRADE pressing for sure. The vinyls are in beautiful condition also and have hardly any spindle wear. I suspect this was purchased to be part of a collection rather than to be played.
The iconic box cover is easily the best I have ever seen. Aside from a little surface rub on the front it is in superb shape and has kept its shape perfectly with no wear on any of the corners etc, it is stunning! The large poster is practically as good as new and the three inner sleeve are also very clean with just one small split on each.
There seem to be so many first press variations and this one obviously has the 1U matrix on all six sides. It has MADE AND PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN on the inside of the box and the inner sleeves have PRINTED IN USA in a small circle. The labels state An E.M.I. Recording at the bottom of the labels on sides A to D and on the left hand side E and F. The box also has an orange divider inside the right hand side when you open it up which is in perfect condition.

Visual description
The vinyls are in lovely condition and still have a stunning glossy sheen with no scratches. The first two records have hardly any spindle wear and only S4 has a couple of faint marks on the first track which have no affect on the audio. The Jam record has a couple of spindle traces and still has a stunning glossy look. Even looking under a bright light I can hardly see any hairlines, they really are in beautiful condition. The grooves are so clean and there is no mottling either. The Apple labels are near perfect with no marking and hardly any spindle wear as stated.
Play grading
'I'd Have You Anytime' plays with a warmth and depth that is quite simply stunning. With only a couple of barely audible ticks (even ticks is too strong a word!) the sonic quality is mesmerising! It plays beautifully, like it has never been played before. Mint-
The acoustic intro on 'My Sweet Lord' is 100% perfect and the opening vocal is on the same level. It continues in the same precise way, every note is so clean and succinct and again the warmth of the audio cannot be underestimated. This album so far is playing as I suspect it would! This classic is Mint including the fade out.
'Wah-Wah' keeps up the standard and plays with stunning precision from start to finish and 'Isn't It A Pity' ends S1 with imperious quality. Once again the depth on the audio is superb and there is no intrusion whatsoever. It has that typical Spector sound and both grade as Mint
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
'What is Life' has just one very quiet static on the intro and then plays to perfection from that point on. Mint-
'If Not For You' plays with stunning clarity and depth, there is no background. As good as new basically and another Mint track.
'Behind That Locked Door' plays beautifully with only a couple of very quiet statics. No clicks, pops or background static and Mint- at the minimum.
The powerful intro on 'Let It Down' plays so clearly without any distortion and the opening vocal section is just as impressive. It continues to play with exceptional audio with no sign of any interference. Mint
'Run Of The Mill' play so well for a final track and again there is literally no background. Remarkable depth and clarity once more from the first note to the last. Mint
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Beware Of Darkness' plays beautifully, I cannot overstate just how clean and precise the audio is. An emotive track the depth and warmth of the audio is sensational and there is no background. It is Mint in every sense.
The next three tracks 'Apple Scruffs', 'Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp...' and 'Awaiting On You All' all play with stunning precision and 'as new' sums it up perfectly. That's no exaggeration by the way, I play every track in full so as to provide a 'complete' grade and if a record has hardly been played and 'cleaned' there is no reason why it should not play 'as new'. The clarity here is first class and clearly all three grade as Mint
The title track 'All Things Must Pass' also plays with sublime clarity and definition with not one iota of interference. Not one dust tick even this is audio of the highest standard and again Mint is deserved.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The quiet intro on 'I Dig Love' has no background and the opening vocal is just as clean. It continues to play with outstanding clarity through every section and there is no interference. A Mint start to S4.
There is no need to 'weigh down' this listing with too many words so needless to say the remaining three tracks on this side 'Art Of Dying', 'Isn't It A Pity (Version 2)' and 'Hear Me Lord' all play with remarkable quality. Disc 2 certainly plays like it has never seen a turntable before. Mint
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Out Of The Blue' is the first Apple Jam and running at over 14 minutes it plays with a dynamic powerful sound throughout. I heard just one very light tick so I will say Mint-
The two other Jams on this side have no interference although 'Plug Me In' has a little inner groove distortion. With solos from Harrison, Clapton and Dave Mason that's not surprising I guess! Mint-
The two Jams on S6 play very clearly with no intrusion. There is only very minimal inner groove distortion here and I will grade as Mint- again.
The Box Cover, Poster & Inner Sleeves
This 'box' is in superb condition and has retained its original shape and structure perfectly, that is a genuine rarity! So often there is some corner damage but that is not the case here. All four spines and corners are in fantastic shape and the box opens perfectly - there is no wear on the 'inner spine'. The front is also very clean and has only a little surface 'rub' and one small faint 'scrape'. It's doubtful you'll ever find a first / early press with a perfectly clean front cover but this is one is very impressive in my opinion. The back is indeed stunning with no wear at all. The inside of the box is 'as new' and the orange divider from the right side has no wear either. This is a superb example of this iconic box cover.
The large poster has been so well preserved and has no tears or corner wear. The reverse side has no marking or staining, another rarity, and there is hardly any creasing. One stunning poster, some would say as good as new :-)
The inner sleeves are made of paper so often have some issues but these are in great shape. They have barely any marking and very little creasing, just a little more on the third. The first one is near perfect with just one tiny side split, the second one small split on the bottom edge and the third again has just one small side split. You won't find many better.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
