ORIGINAL UK APPLE (STCH 639) FIRST PRESSING (November 1970) OF GEORGE HARRISON'S "All Things Must Pass" IN SUPERB CONDITION - IT'S HARDLY EVER BEEN PLAYED (in fact, on close inspection I can't see a single spindle traces on any of the labels) AND IT DELIVERS SENSATIONAL AUDIO REPRODUCTION THROUGHOUT WITH LITTLE TO FAULT - DEEP, RICH, DETAILED AND BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN SOUND - GREAT COPY AND BECOMING INCREASINGLY HARD TO FIND AS A COMPLETE, ORIGINAL UK FIRST PRESSING (see below for all first issue criteria)
THE MOST OBVIOUS FIRST ISSUE FEATURE IS THAT ALL THREE RECORDS ARE PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL (much heavier weight than later issues) AND ALL SIDES HAVE THE FIRST 1U MATRIX

THE BOX IS UK PRINTED WITH AN ORANGE INSIDE TO THE LID WITH THE "MADE AND PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN" STATEMENT - THE BOTTOM PANEL OF THE INSIDE IS HOWEVER, UNTREATED AND UNLINED - THIS IS AN ISSUE WHICH PROVOKES THE MOST DEBATE BUT IT IS NOW GENERALLY CONSIDERED THAT THIS IS THE FIRST ISSUE BOX AND LATER BOXES WERE COVERED IN WHITE OR ORANGE PAPER. THIS IS FURTHER CONFIRMED BY THE FACT THAT THIS COPY INCLUDES A CARDBOARD STIFFENER WHICH IS PRINTED ON ONE SIDE IN THE SAME ORANGE COLOUR AS THE LID - THIS PADS THE CONTENTS AND PREVENTS ANY MOVEMENT DURING TRANSPORTATION (this UK box is deeper than the the US printed equivalents) - IN LATER UK BOXES THE BOTTOM PANEL IS COVERED IN WHITE OR ORANGE PAPER AND THIS INSERT IS NOT PRESENT
THE BACK OF THE BOX ALSO HAS A LEATHER-LIKE TEXTURED FINISH AND THE GOLD LETTERING ON THE TEXTURED SPINE IS INLAYED (again, only first issue features)
ALL THREE INNER SLEEVES ARE US PRINTED (they all were) ON TEXTURED PAPER BUT THESE HAVE A SMALL "PRINTED IN USA" LOGO WHICH IS NOT PRESENT ON LATER INNERS
THE LARGE SIX PANEL POSTER WAS PRINTED IN THE UK WITH "PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN STCH 639" STATEMENT
Without a doubt, Harrison's first solo recording, originally issued as a triple album, is his best.
Drawing on his backlog of unused compositions from the late Beatles era, Harrison crafted material that managed the rare feat of conveying spiritual mysticism without sacrificing his gifts for melody and grand, sweeping arrangements.
Enhanced by Phil Spector's lush orchestral production, and Harrison's own superb slide guitar, nearly every song is excellent: "Awaiting on You All," "Beware of Darkness," the Dylan collaboration "I'd Have You Anytime," "Isn't It a Pity," and the hit singles "My Sweet Lord" and "What Is Life" are just a few of the highlights.

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright and unmarked with no evident spindles or signs of use - in my opinion this copy may have never been played - MINT
VINYL Visual: All surfaces retain their original deep glossy sheen and are practically unmarked. Side Two has a pressing 'bubble' on "What Is Life" but I have played this section through several times and this flaw has no audio consequence whatsoever - NEAR MINT
VINYL Audio: Outstanding audio delivery in every respect with crystal clear, deep, rich and vibrant delivery throughout. On playback at a loud volume (and it's always a real pleasure to return to this one) there are no major audio issues of note - no scratches, no sticks/jumps and no loud clicks or pops - there are some minor, occasional light 'ticks' on Record Two but these really are very minor (nothing I found at all intrusive in any regard) otherwise, this is a beautifully clean pressing and an incredibly impressive recording - beautifully engineered and playing to an extremely high standard with great clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion (it's hardly, if ever, been played) and critically graded a very strong NM/EX+/NM for audio
BOX: The box is in beautiful condition with no bumping or rubbing to the edges or corners and with all the inlayed gold lettering on the spine as clean, fresh and unrubbed as the day it was made. The spine hinge is perfect with no wear and the insides are like-new. There are some light 'foxing' spots in the front top corner (please see close-up photos) - this is the area where the original 59/5d price sticker was attached to UK copies and the area where this foxing commonly occurs - but apart from this the box is NEAR MINT
INNER SLEEVES: All three textured lyric inners (with the tiny "PRINTED IN USA" logo) show some handling but they are all clean and unmarked. The lilac inner has small central splits to the bottom and one side edge (3 cms). The grey inner has a small split to the bottom edge only (1cm). The Apple jam inner is un-split - VG/VG/EX - all three records are now housed in new anti-static inners to prevent anymore knifing damage to the original inners during transit
POSTER: The large poster is clean and unmarked with no tears or damage to the folds, just some light signs of handling - EXCELLENT+
ORANGE STIFFENER: The orange card stiffener is MINT
