GENESIS: The Knife / The Knife (Part 2)Rare original release with solid labels/spindle-hole and picture sleeve.
This is a beautiful copy with a sleeve to die for! Record falls somewhere between EX and VG+. There are a few wispy lines, some hairline marks and the odd tiny scuff mark, but no scratches and both labels are wonderfully clean. There is just the tiny hint of wear to and around the spindle-hole, though the only spindle mark I can see, is on the A-side and this is very short and faint. I will grade the record as VG+, but it is a reasonably clean copy.
Sleeve is near mint. If you wanted to be 100% accurate, then it's EX+, but given how rare the single is and how amazing the sleeve is, I think this is close enough and it is the best example I have ever seen. There is only a small amount of wear from handling, ring-wear - front only, light creasing - bottom, and edge-wear to the opening, otherwise it's clean and has been well cared for. My own personal copy, which I've had for some years now. Time for someone else to admire and appreciate its beauty!

NB: I am a private collector and this particular single, and all of the others I have listed, were mine and are now surplus to requirements. Media (record) graded first — visually under LED lighting, followed by the sleeve.
- Media Condition: VG+
- Sleeve Condition: NM (Near Mint)
Grading system
I use the standard grading system introduced by Record Collector to determine the condition of the records I am selling, with either a + or – added where necessary to provide a wider selection of grades for greater accuracy.
- Mint (M)
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. - Excellent (EX)
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. - Very Good (VG)
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. - Good (G)
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. - Fair (F)
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. - Poor (P)
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. - Bad (B)
The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection-filler.
