AS ENGLISH as progressive rock gets, this is an amazing album from an amazing band. The great thing about the early seventies was undoubtedly the fact that record labels and bands only cared about the music - if it sold, Great. If it stiffed, who cared! Genesis, like so many others at the time, absolved themselves of the pressures to score hit singles by engaging in what was termed album rock. They created a carefully crafted work that exhibited a beginning, a middle and, more often than not, an end to their madness. 'Selling England By The Pound' is a near perfect statement, a record so flawless that it's hard to imagine that at one time it, like Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side Of The Moon', never actually existed except inside the collective mind of its creators.
Sit and marvel at the pulsing beauty of 'Firth Of Fith', 'The Battle Of Epping Forest', 'After The Ordeal' and the 'I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)' and then replace the needle in the grooves and start all over again. Heaven can indeed wait.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition with no signs of use - and no spindle marks on label. Grades as top archive MINT-!
