GENESIS: I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)

Mega-rare Irish pressing, manufactured in Dublin with labels printed in England.
 
Beautiful copy! Near mint with just a few light marks on either side from handling and play, a faint scuff mark on the A-side and a tiny scratch on the B-side; labels are clean on both sides with that crater appearance on the A-side that is common on most Irish pressing, but no evidence of wear to, or around the spindle-hole; B-side is smoother with some spindle marks. Further confirmation of the fact that this is a genuine Irish pressing can be established from the anti-slip teeth which surround the rim of the labels on both sides, these have a smaller profile than those found on English pressings, though the crater finish of the labels is the biggest give away.
 
I don't know how many copies were ever pressed, but possibly only a handful still exist and this must be one of the best copies left in circulation! Paper sleeve is near mint, though probably not the original.
 
NB: I am a private collector and this particular single, and all of the others I have listed, were mine and are now surplus to requirements. Media (record) graded first — visually under LED lighting, followed by the sleeve.

Grading system
I use the standard grading system introduced by Record Collector to determine the condition of the records I am selling, with either a + or – added where necessary to provide a wider selection of grades for greater accuracy.

  • Mint (M)
    The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

  • Excellent (EX)
    The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

  • Very Good (VG)
    The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

  • Good (G)
    The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

  • Fair (F)
    The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

  • Poor (P)
    The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

  • Bad (B)
    The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection-filler.
