Ultra Rare opportunity. This compendium was owned by the original designer.
This listing is for n unopened and completely original sealed set of the extremely rare Genesis Tour “Compendium” put together for their 1973 tour by Alan Smith, artist, designer and friend of the group for many years. He is credited with designing the set and also drew the poster which forms part of the set.
But even better than this, I can personally guarantee that this copiy was owned by their original designer Alan Smith. This was an unused and unworn copy that was left over from the sale at Genesis concerts in 1973. Alan Smith retained it ever since those legendary concerts, before I finally acquired it, along with a few others, several years ago now.
I acquired them from his son, who was helping his Dad downsize to a smaller property at the time. During the clear out of his home, several copies were discovered at offered for sale.
As well as this unique history this ultra rare tour package is totally complete and contains all the correct and original items as follows. I have an opened set myself which weighs a total of 114g as per the list below. The envelope in this auction also weighs 114g.
- Custom designed envelope (14g)
- Twighlight Alehouse flexi single contained in its own white sleeve (19g)
- Large size art poster illustrated by Alan Smith (34g)
- Genesis Information Sheet (8g)
- Genesis “Dice” Game (19g)
- Genesis “Revolver” (18g)
- Genesis Sticker (unused and still on original backing) (2g)
Of course, you are bidding on a sealed, unopened copy which remains in superb condition, something which is practically unheard of given that 99.9% of copies were opened at the time.
The outer envelope is in Excellent+ condition and is nice and clean with no stains or other marks and has just a very minor amount of small and light creasing at the edges.
This represents the chance of a lifetime – buying a totally unused sealed copy of this fantastic compendium, only made possible because it is left over stock from the time of original distribution by the original designer. It simply does not get any better than this!!!

Due to the nature of this item I cannot provide a refund if the envelopes are opened at a later date. Of course envelopes can be opened at the buyer’s discretion but inherently the nature of the sealed envelopes for sales here means that you will be unable to send back the item in its original condition once opened. Please note I that I have opened one copy previously and all contents were correct and in mint condition.
Footnote March 2018:
I had previously sold a handful of other copies a year or two ago but recently moved house myself, and discovered one final envelope which I had previously overlooked. This really does represent the final chance to buy this historic item!!
