Fantastic import album from Generation X one of the best bands to pick up on the early punk DIY ethic and run with it, a vastly underated band in my opinion.
Led by Billy Idol one of the Bromley Contingent of early Sex Pistols fans who followed his own ideas, did his own thing and went his own way, along with Tony James they created an almost pop / rock equivalent of the Sex Pistols.
Generation X were a fantastic band and although their recorded legacy isn't huge their fondly remembered for their fantastic live shows which have now taken on almost legendary status.
Sweet Revenge was the album that refused to die, after leaving Generation X Derwood took the master tapes with him thus leaving the band now rebranded as Gen X to start from scratch and record everything again, this reworked album came into being as Kiss Me Deadly.
The original Sweet Revenge tapes for years were thought to be lost, however luckily for us Derwood kept the tapes and salvaged the original versions and they are now available for us all to enjoy, this is a fantastic sounding album and it will take you back to a time when music really did matter and everywhere inspired young punks thought that maybe they could change their world.
Mint, sealed and freshly imported from Germany this has gotta be a main part of any decent Generation X or punk rock record collection.
