This auction is for a very, very rare and early US 7" EP by Gene Vincent with the Blue Caps - "A Gene Vincent Record Date" - Part 1 - Capitol Records EAP 1-1059. This EP features the cuts "Five Feet Of Lovin'", "The Wayward Wind", "Somebody Help Me" and "Keep It A Secret". This record was pressed in the late 50s and it is extremely rare to find a copy with the original Picture Sleeve in this nice of shape! I have rated the record audibly as such: The A-Side of the record sounds incredible with minimal noise but has a small skip at the absolute end of the second and last track on the A-Side "The Wayward Wind". It is not an endless loop and it is within the last 15 seconds of the song, but it must be noted. Rated at VG- condition solely because of the skip (the rest of the A-Side sounds great). The B-Side is rated at VG- because the first track, "Somebody Help Me" has a short passage that has a couple of pops (no skips), it lasts a few rotations of the record but completely without any skipping, just a couple of pops. The second track "Keep It Secret" sounds great! Both sides play through fine with no endless loops. There's still life in this vinyl for sure and visually it's nice and glossy! Center labels are pretty clean with only some minor wear/coloring. The hard cardboard paste-on Picture Sleeve is in excellent shape! VERY RARE to find one with a Picture Sleeve in this great of shape, let alone a picture sleeve at all! Graded at VG++ conservatively with only extremely small signs of wear. There are absolutely NO seam splits or signs of split seams starting. The corners are all great as well, NONE are stubbed! The biggest detriment to the artwork is a small bubble that was most likely present when the record was new - it's right to the right of the microphone (i attempted to photograph it in the first photo, you can see a slight raised portion. The cardboard itself is not bubbled, so I believe it to just have been glued somewhat poorly when it was first pressed. Please see photos or ask questions before bidding! Thanks!
