Description
This is a first pressing mono copy of Gene Vincent’s first LP titled “Blue Jean Bop” on the Capitol Records label, catalog number T764, released in 1957. The record label is turquoise colored (see pictures) which confirms that it is a first pressing (ref. Goldmine Record Album Price Guide).
All records that I have for sale are play tested prior to listing to guarantee an accurate description of the sound quality.
This 64-year-old record was pressed on extra thick vinyl and looks good. It has several visible scuff marks on the surface that cannot be felt. There is occasional light clicking with typical stylus on vinyl sounds. Does not pop or skip. The record labels are in excellent condition.
The outer jacket shows some minor ring wear on the front and scuffing along the top of the back. There is also a stamped letter “S” on the back, probably a record store price code, and a 1.5” seam split at the top opening (see pictures). All other seams are solid. The original printed Capitol Records inner sleeve is included with seam splits at bottom center and one side.
This is a highly collectable record still perfectly suitable for framing.
I will pack the record outside of the jacket to protect jacket integrity and ship in a sturdy LP mailer with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap for further protection.
