THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO VISIT MY SITE. I HAVE BEEN A PRIVATE COLLECTOR OF VINYL FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN SELLING SINCE THE EARLY 1990s. I STRIVE TO OFFER TOP QUALITY COPIES OF RARE RECORDS FROM THE 1950s THROUGH TO THE 1970s. THE MAJORITY OF ITEMS THAT I SELL ARE FROM MY OWN PRIVATE COLLECTION AND I RARELY SELL ANYTHING THAT GRADES BELOW AN EXCELLENT. I USE STRICT GRADINGS BASED UPON THE RECORD COLLECTOR STANDARD BUT EXPANDED TO GIVE MORE DETAIL AND HELP BUYERS TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE BIDDING ON.

EVERY RECORD THAT I LIST HAS BEEN CLEANED AND FULLY PLAY GRADED ON BOTH SIDES. THIS ENABLES ME TO GIVE BOTH A VISUAL AND AURAL ACCOUNT OF EACH PARTICULAR ITEM. SLEEVES WILL ALSO BE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL WITH PHOTOS OF ALL ASPECTS WHEN REQUIRED. MY WISH IS THAT BUYERS ARE 100% HAPPY WITH ANY ITEM PURCHASED FROM ME AND THAT THEY FEEL MY DESCRIPTIONS MATCH THE ITEM THAT THEY HAVE BOUGHT FROM ME. I UNDERSTAND THAT RECORD GRADING CAN BE VERY SPECULATIVE (ONE PERSONS EX IS ANOTHER'S VG) AND FOR THAT VERY REASON I OFFER A FULL NO QUIBBLE REFUND ON ANY ITEM THAT YOU FEEL DOES NOT MATCH MY DESCRIPTION. ALL ITEMS THAT I LIST ARE U.K. ORIGINALS UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. EACH LISTING WILL GIVE A VISUAL GRADING OF THE VINYL AS WELL AS AN AURAL GRADING SO THAT YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. ALL OF MY DISCS ARE GRADED IN BOTH NATURAL DAYLIGHT AND HALOGEN LIGHT SO THAT I MAY GIVE A FAIR ASSESMENT OF WHAT A RECORD LOOKS LIKE. RECORDS ARE PLAYED ON A LENCO GOLDRING TRANSCRIPTION DECK WITH SHURE CARTRIDGE TRACKING AT ABOUT 1.75 TO 2 GRAMS THROUGH AN ARCAM AMP AND MISSION SPEAKERS. NO FILTRATION IS USED.

COVER CONDITION:

Overall impressions are of a cover in very nice condition which displays just some very light wear and some discolouration to the rear. Very little in the way of creasing or rubbing and very little ringwear.

FRONT: Full lamination on the front with just a faint hint of ringwear only really seen when tilting the sleeve in the light. No major creasing (just a few tiny 'spider line' edge creases). The laminate is intact with no lifting, just a tiny bit missing from the opening edge. There is a little very light feathering to the opening edge but nothing to spoil the appearance of the sleeve. No tears, splits or writing at all.

BACK: Just the very lightest hint of ringwear and some age related discolouration of the white card. All three flipbacks are intact and undamaged. There are 3 little black 'X' pen marks next to three of the track titles (maybe someones favourite tracks) but, other than that, no writing. Light feathering on the opening edge. The back of this sleeve is not laminated.

TOP/BOTTOM EDGE: Both edges are in very good condition with the top edge having just one tiny 'dent' in it (no splits or abrasion) and the lower edge having one small mark in the centre (about 1cm) where it has started to split. Very minor and hardly visible but I wanted to mention it.

SPINE: The spine is in excellent condition. Running a finger along the spine reveals no damage at all, no splits in the laminate and no bumps. The text is clearly readable and there is no compression at any point. Very nice condition. Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse.

CORNERS: A little light wear/rubbing to the corners and the very start of a tiny split (about 2mm) on the top opening edge but no serious damage.

LABEL CONDITION:

Issued on the rainbow Capitol label, this is an original 1st press from the EMI factory manufactured in 1960. Both labels are is beautiful condition. The black of the base colour is strong and vibrant and shows no signs of fade. The silver print is clear and well defined and the rainbow ring is bright and vivid. Both sides show just a handful of ultra light spindle traces when the disc is tilted in the light and nothing more. No stickers or writing whatsoever. ET tax code either side of centre hole on Side 2.

VINYL VISUAL GRADING:

SIDE 1: A lovely copy of this rare Capitol original with just the odd ultra light surface trace/mark and just a couple of light needle type scratches. These are barely tangible and have only touched the surface of the grooves and not penetrated into the playing area. Consequently, there is no audible noise from these at all. No other surface scuffs or scratches whatsoever. The vinyl retains a lovely sheen and whilst it has been played a few times it has been handled with care and is completely free of the type of blemishes and marks often found on such old records. Graded as EX.

SIDE 2: Even better than Side 1 with just the odd ultra light surface trace. No scratches, needle lines or other marks. Beautiful condition for a 55 year old record. The vinyl retains a lovely sheen and, overall, grades as a strong EX.

VINYL AURAL GRADING:

SIDE 1:  A beautiful sounding copy with a strong, clear sound throughout. A virtually silent run in (just one light tick on the run in which has gone by the time the music starts) and no repetitive clicks or ticks at all during playback. In fact the only thing that was heard throughout the entire side was just the odd solitary ultra light tick and that is being really picky. The gaps between tracks are pretty much free from any distracting background noise and the overall listening experience is a delight. Only very light evidence that this side has been played at all. Overall a strong EX.

SIDE 2:  Very similar to Side 1 with a virtually silent run in and a lovely clear sound. There are no repetitive clicks or ticks at all and nothing but a few solitary ticks throughout the whole side. Silence prevails between tracks and, once again, this is a great listen. Only very light signs of use througout. A strong EX.

ALBUM ROUND UP:

Vincent Eugene Craddock needs no introduction being one of the innovators of rock & roll. After a motorcycle accident left him medically discharged from the Navy he formed a rockabilly band and was spotted by local radio DJ Sheriff Tex Davis who became his manager. A contract was signed with Capitol Records who were looking for a Presley clone and Be Bop A Lula sent his career soaring. Forever in pain due to his damaged leg from the motorcycle accident he was involved in a further crash in the UK in 1960 when the taxi that he was travelling in with Eddie Cochran & Sharon Sheeley crashed near Chippingham, Wiltshire. Vincent suffered broken ribs & collarbone and further damaged his leg. Sheeley suffered a broken pelvis but Cochran, who had been thrown from the vehicle, died from his injuries the following day. This LP showcases Vincent at his rocking best and was one of his last for the Capitol Label. It features the UK hit She She Little Sheila as well as some of Vincent's own compositions.

The record itself is a really nice copy that has been well cared for which is obvious when you look at the condition of the vinyl. The sleeve has some light wear but the important issue is the condition of the vinyl which is excellent with nothing but light handling marks and a couple of very minor blemishes. Very difficult to find these original 1st pressings in such nice condition, especially rock and roll records as they were usually purchased by teenagers, played to death and not treated with much respect. However, this copy was lucky and is one you won't be disappointed with.

POSTAGE:

All of my items are posted 1st Class Signed For delivery with no exceptions. I am happy to post overseas but all packages will be International Signed For with appropriate insurance, again, no exceptions. Records are always packed out of their sleeve to stop 'knifing' of the seams and have their own protective PVC cover. Everything is always well packed with stiffening card for maximum protection.

GUIDE TO GRADINGS

MINT: As new condition/unplayed

NEAR MINT: No obvious marks or imperfections. May have very light paper lines/hairlines visible under strong light. Sound quality will be virtually perfect.

EXCELLENT + Record will display just the odd very light surface line/mark. No needle lines or scratches. Background/surface noise will be virtually non existent with the possibility of the occasional solitary tick. There will be nothing on the record to cause any audible flaws or distortion.

EXCELLENT: Record will display one or two surface lines and/or light scuff marks. No audible needle lines or scratches. There may be a little very light background noise only audible on the run in/out. No obvious audible flaws or distortion and will only have had light use. Records graded as Excellent will still be very acceptable copies.

VERY GOOD +: Record will display light surface lines/scuffs, light needle lines and hairlines although there will not be any heavy or obvious scratches. Sound quality will still be perfectly acceptable although there will probably be a little light background noise, most obvious on the run in/out and a little minor distortion occasionally. Records graded VG+ will have had moderate use but have not been overplayed.

VERY GOOD: Record will display several surface lines/marks, light needle lines and light scratches, some of which may be audible. The record has obviously been played many times but will still produce a good sound, albeit with some mild distortion occasionally. There will be no sticks or jumps and the record will play through fine.
