MEGARARE original CAPITOL Records, very first Mono press released in Chile by Capitol Records in 1960, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from Capitol Records Inc., USA, with MEGARARE green/silver Capitol Records labels, catalog number F 3874, with machine etched matrix numbers 45-18036 in Side A and 45-17822 in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!

It’s very interesting to notice that in Side A it’s printed the original price of this record as part of the label information, Eº0,90 or $900. Only the original 1960 issue has these both prices informed because in 1960 Chile changed the currency from PESO ($) to ESCUDO (E°) with conversion of E°1 = $1000. It’s also clear that someone removed a sticker over the price, that sticker sure informed another price, because the company had to re-price the label before it went to the market.

This single doesn’t come with a cover. Record is in VG- condition both sides, it’s glossy and clean but with loads of scuffs, hairlines and light scratches of all sizes, which incredibly don’t affect play. Labels are in VG or VG+ condition in both sides, clear and clean, but with some mild wear, the residues of the sticker already informed in Side A and a blemish in Side B. Sound is a nice surprise, it’s in great VG- or VG condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, but with a soft background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile) and constant crackles, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall a MEGARARE record with GREEN CAPITOL RECORDS LABELS, Spanish-written song titles and double-priced labels in still a great condition, not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a nice look and a more than respectable sound quality after 55 years old which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on the thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record (USD 11)

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
