Description
TITLE/ARTIST: OK, for all my regular viewers/buyers, both new and old, I expect to be away from my Ebay site for the next two weeks or so - but I will be back again, so please bookmark my site for future reference. However, I'm posting one last, rare and hard to find beauty here before I go away. This is one highly collectible and very difficult to find LP by Gene Chandler - his very 1st LP release, and in the truely authentic, ultra rare "stereophonic" format - by one of the '60's more popular artists, Gene Chandler. It is yet another album which is, in my opinion, in excellent overall condition - especially the vinyl which looks hardly played. The album is on the original VeeJay Label (SR-1040), and is entitled "Duke Of Earl" after his huge hit song of the same title from 1962. The record includes 12 great songs including that title song and 11 others - and all of it in original STEREO (see pics above for all song titles). This is an original stereo release version which not only has "Stereophonic" written across the front top side of the jacket's cover, but also has the "Important Notice" statement on the top back side - please check your price guide/informational booklets for further clarifications and verification on what these two issues mean towards the record's 1st press status. I have listed - and will continue to list - many other LP's, EP's and 45's in the weeks and months ahead, so please bookmark my site and check everything out from time to time - although I will be away for about two weeks. Thank you in advance! LABEL INFO: This original, VeeJay Label (SR-1040) is nearly perfect with no serious issues at all - I don't even see any spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me that it may have had very little - if any - play time. VINYL INFO: Likewise, the vinyl is super shiny, clean, and nice, and quite honestly, looks about as good as the day it was first purchased. I can believe it's possible that this LP was never played, although I don't know that for sure. JACKET INFO: Finally, this jacket is without doubt the weakest part of this package, but it's not all that bad either. There is a 7" seam split along the top seam only, some very light and early signs of ring wear in a couple of the lighter areas, especially on the back side, and some small scuff marks in the corner areas. But, giving the extreme age and rarity of this album, in my opinion, none of this is all that bad. But, please check out all of the photos above, and make your own decisions. Thank you! INTERESTING FACTS: Yes, in my opinion this super rare, hard to find, highly collectible LP is in quite good overall shape, so have at it. I will continue to list many other RnR/R&B LP's, EP's, and 45's by 1950-60's artists----and some C&W LPs/45's, too----so please continue to check out my site. As I have already mentioned, I am selling off my entire personal collection, and there are 1000's more to get to yet -- of all genre's and varieties. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So again, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! If anyone ever needs more info than what is listed, please email me. I will respond! POSTAGE/HANDLING CHARGES: In the United States, the buyer agrees to pay $5.00 (Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation) for the first LP purchased, and then just $1.00 per LP after that-----so, buy in quantity and save. These are U.S. rates only, and all foreign winners will have to await an email me for their exact costs, although I will send a detailed invoice as soon as the auction is over---but, there too, it is cheaper to send multiple pieces. The charges for overseas are listed in the shipping category below--$23.00 for the 1st LP and then just $4.00 per LP after that. PLEASE NOTE: I take a great deal of pride in packaging all my mailings both safely and securely. However, I cannot be responsible for records that are lost or damaged by either US or overseas Postal Services. But, for additional fees, I will gladly ship the packages Priority Mail and/or add insurance! Please email me with either, or both, requests if this is of interest to you. Also, please continue to check out "rogersrecords" on ebay for future collectible records of all types. There are many more to come! browser does not support JavaScript.
