Description

Hello and Welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE/ARTIST: "The Friars Club Presents the Gary Cooper Testimonial Dinner" by Various Artists on the Friars Club private record label in vintage original sound, issued in 1961.
CONDITION OF VINYL: Near Mint(All three records are in glowing near mint condition, with only a couple of very light scuffs among the three - graded visually using special daylight balanced spotlight). CONDITION OF JACKET: Near Mint(Jacket has extremely light wear, and features 13 razor sharp black and white photos, including the large gatefold crowd photos inside - please see photos of actual album offered).
SPECIAL FEATURES: Incredibly rare and desirable Friars Club Testimonial Dinner for Gary Cooper, on January 8, 1961, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, featuring the speakers listed below. Very interesting is the back side of record 1, with a blank label and dazzling grooves (which I did not attempt to play), while the other 5 sides are filled with recordings and are in near perfect condition. Photographers will especially appreciate the stunning depth of field on the group photos, sharp as a tack from near to far. This is one of the last great dinners of "old Hollywood", and as such is a treasure beyond value. Don't miss this classic.
SPEAKERS INCLUDE:
Barry Mirkin, George Jessel, Audrey Hepburn, Art Linkletter, Dmitri Tiomkin, Tony Martin,

Jack Warner, Carl Sandburg, George Burns, Gov. "Pat" Brown, Dean Martin, Sam Goldwyn,

Milton Berle, Greer Garson, Henry Ford II, Jack Benny, Tony Curtis, and Gary Cooper
SPECIAL NOTES: All of our albums are visually graded, but we will gladly play them to confirm condition. Please email us if you would like that service. RATING SYSTEM: New (sealed in original wrap); Near Mint (very light wear and uniform glossy vinyl appearance; one or two light rubs on jacket surface or corner); VG++ (light wear that is visible but not audible; light wear to jacket edges or corners); VG+ (many marks on record surface that are lightly audible during quiet passages; small splits, marks, or tears on jacket); VG (surface covered with light scuffs or marks that are audible during all but loudest passages; jacket extensively marked, split, or torn: note: we only sell this grade on very rare records).
OTHER POLICIES: We will gladly combine shipments on items bought within the same week. We only charge our exact cost for packing materials and shipping fees; if you pay too much we issue an immediate refund. We give you positive feedback as soon as you pay, and we appreciate the same respect from you. If you have any problem giving an honest 5-Star feedback, please let us know and we will resolve your problem, Guaranteed. We look forward to working with you. Thanks for looking. Jim and Diane
