Fully working, recently restored and serviced Garrard 4HF........
These top quality turntables were manufactured in Swindon in the early sixties apparently as a precursor to the famous Garrard 301 and 401.
They were used as home hi-fi units as well as in record shops and, as the reggae connoisseurs know, they were a big favourite with sound systems both in the UK and Jamaica.....check out the Soul Jazz 'Studio 1 Story' DVD to see King Stitt using one when he plays Coxsone's set!!
Russ Bell-Brown's 'Boom-Shacka-Lacka' website also mentions these decks on the Original Dubplate page - apparently Jah Shaka still uses one!
This one is in excellent condition with a very few small marks/ blemishes, the original rubber mat is good, the vari-speed is working and the armrest clip is intact!
The turntable has just been serviced by one of the country's most well-known and experienced experts and is in full working order. It comes with a 45rpm single adapter and a (damaged) headshell (neither of which are shown in the photo).
There is no plinth with this turntable, although I may have another couple for sale soon.....contact me for more details or to ask any questions.
