DON'T SEND ME AWAY / YOU GOT DAT RIGHT ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by GARFIELD FLEMING produced by DAVID MORRIS Jr & ROGER MELTZER for Brothers United Together Inc / executive producer MATT PARSONS. Original US 1st pressing on the BECKET RECORDS label (BKA-45-7), from 1981. Desirable, modern soul by a former member of the Delfonics ;) The DON'T SEND ME AWAY side is a classic example of early '80s Philly soul featuring the latest technology of the period. Amazing production sound with boom bap drums / heavy slap bassline / gliding orchestrations / funky percussion / joyous lead vocals and back harmony / synthesizers et al. Big record with DJs and collectors with crossover disco appeal too. Comped by the UK Goldmine label in the early '90s and said to be a cult anthem at soul weekenders. No skips / no jumps on our original 1st pressing either (some copies of the promo 7inch and original 12" mix seem to have them). Also the promo 7inch has the same track on each side but our item includes YOU GOT DAT RIGHT, which is soulful in a boogie / party funk vein. The 1st press single is actually in flat edged styrene (something that most other sellers fail to mention). Top copy, taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played a couple of times before the recording of our soundclip. Rare 45!!! Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG delfonics philly Philadelphia

Flat edged styrene record is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with a few hairlines / faint paper scuffs from storage cum sleeve removal. Booming production sound. Light surface noises. Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played a couple of times before the recording of our soundclip. Some mini bubbles and light wear marks to the paper label but common for Becket 7inch releases in general. Record will be housed in a white card sleeve with brand new poly lined inner. Rare 45!!!
