Further Information/Comments

Super rare psych prog album, virtually impossible to find copies of this... although 'released' on the highly collectable SPACEWARD label, this is believed to be a small all-most in-house project type private pressing, with only a handful of copies being made (probably less than 100 copies due to tax).

A quick look on the internet currently turns up just one other copy, at over £300.??The plain white sleeve is printed just one side (as seen in the photograph), the reverse is totally blank.?The vinyl is a good quality pressing and this has no visible marks... very close to being unplayed.

This is a very strange Private Pressing.

It’s a cover album of Tommy, the rock opera (it sounds like a school project). But above all, it’s done in an amateur way (out of tune singing, poor musicianship, low-budget recording…). That could have been awful (why the hell did they choose the Who?!!). But it’s not that bad.

Gambler is always very enthusiastic (it’s not like anything you’ve heard before) and that works in its favour. What they made is really appealing and certainly much more fun than the original version by the Who.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s clearly not for everyone but some of you will cherish it. To add to the weirdness, the Gambler LP was recorded at the Spaceward Studios in 1972 but released in 1969!!?? (but I think that relates to release date for The Who original).

I am a collector who has been collecting records for nearly 30 years, and these records are either part of my collection that I no longer require, or have acquired over the years as part of a job lot I purchased.  My main motivation for selling records is to finance the purchase of further records for my collection.

I have been buying and selling on Ebay since July 2000, and have a 100% positive feedback rate. I try to give accurate gradings and do everything I can to ensure that every sale goes smoothly.

I believe that collectable records are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, so all my auctions have a low starting price in relation to their rarity and/or condition.

______________________________________________________________

My gradings are based on the system used by Record Collector magazine as described below

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.??

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.??

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Postage and Packaging
All records are sent securely packaged in purpose made mailers with at least 2 cardboard stiffeners, clearly marked fragile.I  always remove the record  from the outer sleeve (to avoid seam split whilst in transit) and then insert the record and sleeve into a brand new polythene sleeve.
I only post items as per Ebay and Paypal terms & conditions, which require that items are sent by a method that is trackable. Due to this, please be advised that you check that the postages rates listed below are acceptable to you before bidding, but please be assured, P&P charges are only those incurred and represent no profit to me.  UK packages are sent 2nd class recorded, as there appears to be only a minor  difference in delivery times between 1st & 2nd class which the additional charge does not seem to warrant. If required, I will send 1st class (if requested) but there will be an additional charge to cover  the extra cost.
I  enter the tracking number for all packages on to Ebay either on the day of dispatch or the following day, so that you are fully aware of the progress of dispatched items.
I do combined shipping ,so if you win more than one item it will work out a lot cheaper on the postage if I send them in the same mailer. If you purchase more than one record, Please await receiving the invoice from me on the completion of the auction before paying, so that I can calculate the correct postage and you do not overpay.
Please note: If the value of the item, or combined items,  exceeds the standard compensation rate for "signed for items", there will be no extra charge to you,  as I will cover the additional cost  for  the increased insurance.
