Description

This album sounds like what death metal would sound like if it were played in crypts. Everything about this music screams cryptic, including the sound, vocals, riffs, layout, lyrics and everything. Tons of reverb, grimy and scratchy guitar and bass sound, awesome organic drumming that is not the tightest thing to ever emerge in death metal, but still delivers with a vengeance. The vocals stink of rotting earth, its like they emerge form below the surface and seem undead, and go so incredibly low that I am convinced they use a pitch-shifter, which apparently they do not. I guess I shall have to see them live in order to find out the mystery of this mans low growls. And these are not frog vocals either, they are pure screamed low guttural speeches of hate and obscurity. Best song for me was ‘Pestilential Miasma’, as well as ‘Adoration of Abscessed Cadavers’. This album just plain rules, if you like Incantation, Disciples of Mockery, Immolation, Winter, or all of the above, just do yourself a favor and get it.
