Visual Grading:
Side One: Mint
Side Two: Mint (-)
The record is in fantastic Visual Condition. The vinyl is glossy and appears unworn and unmarked (even under strong light). Side Two is graded Mint (-) instead of Mint due to a tiny, light hairline mark near the end of the album which I nearly missed completely but is worth mentioning. This small mark is barely noticeable and does not affect the record visually or audibly. The boxed "Decca" labels are in stunning condition. The labels show virtually no spindle marks or wear whatsoever.
Play Grading:
Side One: Excellent+
Side Two: Excellent+
For a record this old the sound quality is incredible with no audible distortion. There is some light crackle and the occasional light surface noise. Although the light occasional crackle and surface noise are barely noticable they have prevented the record from scoring a slightly higher grading.
Condition of Sleve: Excellent+
The front laminated black and gold sleeve is in excellent condition. The lamination is intact and the corners and edges are unworn. The spine is still intact and there is virtually no creasing. The unlaminated rear of the sleeve is in excellent condition and shows some very light signs of ringwear that is hardly noticeable.
Condition of Insert: Mint (-)
This scarce insert is in mint condition. There is virtually no creasing and the edges and corners are still sharp. The insert sheet is not discoloured which is unusual since many insert sheets from these pressings have discoloured with age. It would be virtually impossible to find a better looking insert sheet and it would be extremely difficult to find another one in such amazing condition.
There is no writing, drawings, sticker marks etc. on the cover/inserts etc.
This first Genesis LP is very hard to find in such good condition which is why I felt I had to include a reserve on the auction which I wouldn't normally do. This would grace anybody's record collection.
Postage and Packaging: The record will be sent by recorded delivery in a cardboard record mailing envelope protected with two strong cardboard stiffeners. The record will be in a protective PVC outersleeve and sandwiched between the stiffeners and the envelope will be sealed with strong packaging tape.
The photographs aren't particularly clear I'm afraid but if you have any questions please contact me via "ask seller a question".
