Description
An original Mono 1st issue of Fresh Cream on the UK Reaction label. Matrix A2/B1. Not the very earliest version, but would have been available toward the end of the initial chart run. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 'mono' Ernest J Day cover. The original inner sleeve is also present. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) In excellent condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. These early mono copies are just THE way to hear Cream - you get the power and the range! Audio quality is outstandingly good and shows how these early copies were pressed to a high standard and were designed to last. Interference is, thankfully, both minor and infrequent. All we could detect was a few crackles in a couple of spots on side 1. It really is an impressive and clean rendition by any standard, and will leave you begging for more!
Cover (Vg+) A truly difficult title to find in great condition. This example has survived the years in above average condition. Many copies are shot to bits after 50 years of use - this example fairs pretty well all things considered. The front is is in very nice shiny condition and is only exhibiting a few light creases with no laminate lift. The rear, often the problem area, is in nice condition with just some ageing toward the edges. We can also make out a tiny biro scribble at the base of Ginger's shirt. There's a bit of edge wear, but this copy is much better than most - at no point has it worn through. Do not expect to read any text on the spine. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies nice and flat. A very fine example of a difficult to find in top condition.
Inner (Vg+) Bit of ageing in places. One side split - which has been taped up.
