SUBWAY - Same ( Epic EPC 64541, FRANCE 1970 )
Here we have a mega rare original copy of this fantastic acid folk masterpiece - created from the USA born violin player Malcolm Watson and the UK songwriter, singer and guitarist Irvin Mowrey. In the time when the recorded this album they relocated from the UK to France - where this album also was recorded and released. Musically one of the best psych folk (rock) albums from the European continent, with a melancholic feeling, exqisite playing - also on some tracks with an electric backing (guitars, bass, drums, effects....) I. Mowrey was later a member of the more wellknown group Bachdenkel.
The cover is in top very mint minus (m-) condition
The record is in very good minus to very good (vg-/vg) condition, side 1 showing some abrasions / hairlines - on the 1st track on side 1 there is a surface mark (NOT feelable) on 2/3 of the song - that clicks on this part - hearing distinctively (but NOT in a very loud or disturbing way) - the rest of side 1 plays fine in a vg+ direction. Side 2 showing some surface abrasions / hairlines also - the first 2/3 of this side plays with several surface cracklings in the background - the rest of side 2 plays better - would say vg+ also. Also all in all I would say - looks vg / plays between vg and vg+ / the vg- I have given for the surface mark on track A1 - a very satisfying copy - if you´re not a MINT collector.
