Description
Re-listed with reduced start-price!
Nice clean condition and ultra rare copy of this 1970 Island 1st-press with the pink label & "i" logo.
This was the band's third studio album and really was their "breakthrough" release, helped no doubt by their appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival that year.
Re-pressed and re-issued heavily since its release, this is a genuine 1st-press Island release with the much coveted pink Island label.

Vinyl: VG+ A lovely clean copy - obviously handled and played - but still in really good shape. There are plenty of superficial hairline surface marks, but I've play-tested it in full and it sounds great. There's some slight crackle and hiss, especially on the run-ins and on the dead wax between tracks, but any minor imperfections are quickly lost when the audio tracks kick-in. It has retained a nice lustre and sheen, lies flat on the turntable and plays without any jumps, skips or scratches. The labels are the original Island plain pink design with a large white "i" logo and black label-text. The labels are nice and clean with surprisingly light eveidence of spindle-wear. There is a ballpoint penned name on side 1 label (See photo).
Sleeve: VG+ Great condition sleeve for an album in its 46th year! Semi-gloss finished thin card sleeve featuring colour band-photo on front cover. Track-listing and credits on rear cover along with small blue-tinted band photo in a windowpane setting. The sleeve is structurally intact with no splits, tears or creases. There's a little minor edge-wear and ring-wear, but the spine is solid and completely legible. (The same penned name also appears on the rear cover) It comes with a plain black inner die-cut.
It's a great example of a genuine rarity & sought-after collectors item. Record Collector RRPG and Discogs both rate Mint copies in the three figure price bracket. To be clear, this is not a Mint copy by any stretch - but it fully justifies my rating of VG+
Realistic start-price, no hidden reserves and I'm happy to ship anywhere. As always, I offer a full, no-quibble money-back guarantee if any winning bidder not satisfied.
