Soulful Detroit identifies this as the 1st Record from Freddy Butler early 1960's. Referred to as Northern Soul, Popcorn Soul, R&B
I am not a record dealer, but in checking different grading sites I would say this is EX to VG+ condition. I've played this on my old stereo system and it sounds like all the old 45's I played in the 1960's, I have only wiped this gently with a microfiber cloth, I'm sure you collectors have the proper disc cleaner to make it perfect.
Markings on the label: Star Maker Records, 1930, S 156 A, Sylvia Music 2:07, Nationally Dist. by SEG-WAY Records Corp. A.M. Hanks Production, I TOLD YOU SO (Hanks, Garrett, Hamilton & Bell) FREDDY BUTLER ** There is a pink mark over the SO, doesn't block the word. The back side is "THIS ROAD" 2:18 mins, with all the same information
The plain white sleeve has no splits, one side has #4 in the upper corners, back side has 29. The original owner of this record did local school proms and sock hops from 1962 to 1968, I believe the #'s on the sleeve indicate their place in his line-up. I will be selling more of the collection as I come up with good shipping boxes, I am very particular about getting my items to the buyer in perfect condition. This comes from my 97 yr old neighbor's home, he had to move quickly to assisted living and I am trying to sell some of his things to give him a little help, his son was the DJ.
