Description
I do not sell copies.
Getting Ready was the first of 3 albums that Freddie King recorded for the Shelter label.
It was recorded at Chess studios in Chicago in 1971, the famous blues recording studio.
It was produced by Leon Russell, who also played piano and guitar on the recording. Donald "Duck" Dunn was on bass guitar.
The songs are straight ahead blues and there is a generous helping of Freddie's searing lead work. Freddie used a plastic thumb pick and a steel pick on his index finger, which resulted in his treble laced lead solos. Freddie learned this from Jimmy Rogers, who was Muddy Waters' lead guitar player.
A very good blues LP from a great blues legend. He was a God for people like Eric Clapton and I like most of his albums and work!!

Notes
Recorded in October 1970 at Chess Studios, Chicago.Mixed at Ardent Studios, Memphis, Jan. 1971.
The LP: (EX) Very little used and in excellent condition with no skipping, jumping, mis-tracking or warping. Negligible surface noise for its age. Very little spindle wear. Nice clean labels. Sounds great when I test played it.
Sleeve: (VG+) Edge wear is slight really but there is a crease on the front right cover but nothing major. No tears or seam problems and the spine with titles is excellent. Very slight ink line under the title on the front. Unlaminated front and back. VG+ is a fair description. No stickers or names on the sleeve or the disc.
Delivery: By Recorded Delivery. The disc will be cleaned on my VPI record cleaning machine and a new inner sleeve will be provided as well as a plastic sleeve cover. I always use good cardboard packaging boxes with additional stiffeners.
