Description

Omega 7" Acetate.  Fred Mark was a Philadelphia Soul singer that recorded some collectible 45's for Omega and Concept.  I researched this title and couldn't find any reference to it.  I believe this recording was never released.  The acetate grades VG+ with light background noise but no significant pops or clicks.  The acetate does not show much needle wear but has a whiteish haze to it.  Please read the paragraph below as to what this is and the remedy.  I'm also listing another Fred Mark acetate.  A sound clip has been provided.  Please listen to the entire clip to judge sound quality before bidding.

Cleaning an acetate: After doing some research with particular help from theaudioarchive.com I found a few things out. The whiteish haze is a chemical reaction that occurs over time. It's a combination of palmitic acid and stearic acid. The good news is that it can be removed with a solution of clear ammonia and deionized water. According to that website this will significantly improve sound quality. Since I've never attempted this before it was not worth the risk. If you don't know what you're doing you can permanently damage an acetate by improper cleaning. I'm leaving it to the winning bidder to clean/ or not clean this acetate. If you decide to clean it, do your research first.

Save on shipping with multiple wins. For domestic shipping each additional 45 is 25 cents more. For International shipping each additional 45 is $2.50 more. Payment is due within 72 hours unless other arrangements are made. Thanks.

Please be aware that the USPS dramatically increased rates for international packages starting in 2013. Rates have gone up once again in January 2016. Please check rates before bidding.
