ARTIST - FRED CANCIO TITLE - JESUS IS MY FRIEND LABEL - EMMANUEL CATALOG NO - 2000
RECORD AND COVER GRADING - VG+
The record has some minor scuffs and looks excellent, however, it does have some minor off and on crackling that does not have a source. The cover has shrink wrap, minor stain on the back lower left. This is an incredible private pressing LP. There are a couple of other Cancio recordings floating around out there, but this one is fairly unknown. There is only one hit on a web search. I have a long section of one song that has a great groovy soft funk feel with a must have drum break. There are other great moments on this record. Some of the songs have sections where it sounds like a standard gospel LP, but most of them gather up some kind of funky groove or have some kind of cool instrumental break. Its as if Cancio gets his gospel message across, then lets the background band take over. I could go into great detail about every song, but suffice it to say the track you will hear below will cover most of what I want to say! Thanks for looking.

VJ'S VINYL GRADING SYSTEM: (based on Goldmine)
Mint - never used, once a record is opened, the top you can get is mint minus. Mint Minus - A great record, one or two fine hairline scuffs, sounds flawless. A mint minus record can "play" mint. Covers are new looking, may have shrink. Excellent - Can have faint hairline scuffs that do no affect play. Can have very minor infrequent crackling. Minor bumps in the cover. VG+ - Scuffs can be more prevalent, with a little more surface noise. If it visually has more scuffs but plays great, I will note that. Still, a very fine and playable copy. Covers have minor age and shelf wear. VG - Can have lots of hairline scuffs, and maybe one or two scratches. Surface noise more prevalent with some popping in spots. Covers have more extensive age and shelf wear. Minor splits. VG minus - More in the way of scratches and surface noise is NOT infrequent. Still, a viable copy. Covers may have splits. G+ - only reserved for a very rare or popular record. Very noisy, maybe some skips, scratches are evident. Covers are trashed. STILL SEALED - I will grade the vinyl as "still sealed." That means it's probably mint minus, but I do not know if there was any factory defects. Hairline scuffs - are light yet visible. You cannot feel them with the skin of your finger. (I cannot fathom feeling it with your fingernail as described in Goldmine...why would you do that?) Scratches you can feel. If I am on the fence between grades, I will go with the lower one. I will not use VG++ etc., but will say that a record is a "strong" VG+. "Age wear" on a cover is either fading or yellowing. "Shelf wear" is ring wear, corner bumps, or fraying
