Description

After Frank Zappa broke up the Mothers of Invention, he recorded and performed under his own name before re-forming the group. This release documents part of a concert at Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, with Zappa leading a sensational quintet. The music includes smoking versions of "Sharleena" and "Directly from My Heart to You"plus the premiere of "Willie The Pimp"  and a long but never dull exploration of "Chunga's Revenge." Zappa's guitar playing is superb, as is the blistering blues violin of Don "Sugar Cane" Harris, who was only with Zappa briefly and not featured with him on any other live recordings. Although this is a bootleg, it is one of the best unauthorized recordings of Frank Zappa.
