Record: Very rare original BIZARRE Reprise USA white label pressing, stating PROMOTION NOT FOR SALE. Vinyl is in very good condition. Nice gloss overall with a few light scuffs. Record plays well, there is some surface background noises detectable, particularly to the run ins and quieter sections, which is fairly common on played records. This is NOT a beat copy. Play tested using a high quality Linn turntable.

Label: This record belonged to a former radio station in Chicago. Side A is clean, sharp white label. Side B is the same with the radio station stamp (see photo).
Cover: USA non laminated matt gatefold cover, thick card sleeve. The cover is in good condition apart from a seam split (which can be fixed) along the upper portion of the record opening side. There is also a separate, far less obvious, split on the lower portion of the sleeve. Although this sounds bad, once in a plastic sleeve you can hardly notice it. There is some edge wear, slightly heavier corner wear and tiny corner creasing.
The rest of the sleeve is excellent with some bumps to the corners and light ring wear to the back cover (NOT the front). Excellent spine with all title text intact, some light edge wear on extreme folded edge of spine, the very bottom and very top edges of spine have surface wear. Complete with original inner sleeve. The sleeve has been stored in a plastic sleeve since I bought it in the late 1990s. It has then been stored in high quality flight cases since then.
Poster: Excellent (MINT?) condition. ONLY the first US edition included a bonus poster: two-sided, black & white, folds out to 4' by 10", with photos of the Mothers and a couple of Zappa, and says at the bottom on both sides "The Mothers of Invention Sincerely Regret To Inform You" - INCREDIBLEY RARE: NO writing, NO pin holes, NO sign of it ever being stuck to a wall. To be honest it looks new! Which is remarkable given how old it is.
History: Burnt Weeny Sandwich was released in 1970. It consists of both studio album and live elements. The album's rather unusual title comes from an actual snack that Zappa enjoyed eating, consisting of a burnt Hebrew hot dog sandwiched between two pieces of bread with mustard. The album was essentially a 'posthumous' Mothers release, having been released after Frank dissolved the band. The centerpiece of the album "Little House I Used to Live In" consists of several movements and employs compound meters such as 11/8 with an overlaid melody in 10/8. "Igor's Boogie" is a reference to classical composer Igor Stravinsky. It is worth noting that CD editions have a severe dropout at the beginning of 'Little House I Used to Live In' that wasn't present on the original LP pressing.
