DESCRIPTION
Frank Zappa Beat The Boots LP Box Unplayed. I owned C-Side Records when this box set was released in 1991, and as it happened I had flown to Chicago to meet with my distributor the day it was released. So while in their warehouse I spotted this set, and bought the 10 best copies they had. Many were really beat up, crushed, busted corners, etc... of the hundred or so I looked at. Fortunately for me I was able to pick 10 good sets, 9 of which I sold through C-Side, and this one that I kept for myself (the best copy of course).
When I got home to Florida, I opened the copy I had chosen for myself to see what was in it and put it away in my collection. And it has remained that way for 14 years. These photos are the only time this box has been opened since 1991, and that time was for all of 10 seconds. I know from selling even cherry picked copies of this set, that many had seam splits on the jackets, because the box was 3/8" bigger than the LPs. allowing them to bang around in the box during shipping. Mine fortunately has perfect covers on all 8 covers (10 LPs). No splits, bent corners, zip nadda, perfect. And the T-Shirt, button and sticker are mint, never removed from the box except to set them aside for these photos. The 3D pop up display is perfect, and the disc's have never been touched! This is your chance to get a cherry picked copy out of hundreds of these.
Shipping will be more involved on this as the discs should be removed from the jackets to prevent splits, and then boxed separately from the covers. Then the box itself boxed sperate from that. This is a lot of boxing and sleeving, so it is really hard to put a price on shipping. I can tell you that I DO NOT MARK UP SHIPPING! You pay exactly what the USPS rate chart says when I weigh the package. So depending on your address, I will calculate shipping at the end of the auction. The box set weighs 7 pounds with no packing at all, so by the time it is packed properly, it is likely to be at least 8 LBs. So especially overseas, shipping isn't going to be cheap. But I can promise you that this will be one of the cleanest copies you've ever seen. You can go to USPS.com, and enter 8 LBs from zip code 33764 in the USA to get an idea of final shipping costs to you will be. This will also allow you to choose what method you would like it shipped. Oh yeah, these shots were taken out side in the shade of a tree, so you see some leaf shadows, and a blue cast, and the corner not shown is perfect. Thanks for looking at my auction. Tom Richards
