Description
For sale is vinyl album by Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington titled Francis A. & Edward K., originally released in 1968 by Reprise Records with the original tri-color labels with a laughing Frank Sinatra on the upper left hand quadrant. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 1-B/1-D, followed by a lower case "o" and an upper case "T", indicating that this record was mastered at Columbia Records' Customatrix, before an early stamper was used to make this album at Columbia Records' pressing plant located in Terre Haute, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put this album into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. Doing this protects the integrity of vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The original inner sleeve is graded as Excellent because of a big crease on one of its corners. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of ring wear on the back cover, edge rubs and very minor corner blunts. The spine has a little color loss at the corners from these blunts. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, still shiny and shimmery with labels that no not have spindle marks or defects of any kind. The vinyl is play graded as Near Mint without any surface noise or skips and plays all the way through effortlessly. This is the best copy of this hard to find record that I've ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find a copy in this condition, especially a Terre Haute first pressing. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
