Forest Full Circle LP Folk Psych Orig UK NM We are offering an original UK pressing of Forest's 2nd LP on Harvest Records, Catalog number SHVL 784. Released in 1970, with NO EMI on label.
The record is in mint minus (mint-) condition, almost no surface noise in fantastic condition.
You will not find a better copy!
The original textured cover shows some slight signs of wear along the spine and a hint of a splt in the top of the pocket where the record has been stored.
Over all it is in VG plus (VG+) condition.
This LP is rarely seen and rarely offered... don't let it get away!
A bit about this record...
Full Circle is the second and last album by the British folk trio Forest. Their music is very connected to the Incredible String Band and Dr.Strangely Strange. Their sound draws much inspiration from medieval music. The opening song "Hawk The Hawker", has some great harmonica and vocal work, I especially like the chorus. The voice in "Bluebell Dance" seem quite distant, like if it was recorded away from the microphone. Im not really into recording studios and their functionalities, so, i cant say how they made it, but it sounds great with a beautiful guitar line. Everyone who is a die-hard fan of ISB will find many similarities in "The Midnight Hanging Of A Runaway Serf". The instrumental "To Julie" shows them, as some seriously virtuos players. They change their style for awhile and appear with a nicely done Blues song called "Do Not Walk In The Rain". None of the lyrics from the songs before were about flowers and happiness. They were mostly about death and violence, and "Graveyard" shows that. combined with some impressive vocals and Whistle work. "Autumn Childhood" is a nice ending for the album. This is a great folk album. It's nice to have a break from all the others who just talk about peace and stuff (i am a pacifist by the way) and entering the real world of destruction and death of our society.
