“Further” is the critically acclaimed second studio album by the English indie rock band Flying Saucer Attack. Released on 17 April 1995 on Drag City, it is widely considered a landmark release in the "rural psychedelia" movement.
The album seamlessly blends wall-of-noise distortion with gentle acoustic folk.
The album was recorded largely using home-bedroom equipment by core members David Pearce and Rachel Brook. It is famous for a few unique musical traits:
Optimistic Underground folk Meets Noise: Beautiful acoustic guitar strumming layered beneath massive waves of electric guitar feedback.
Buried Vocals: The singing is mixed very softly, sounding like a distant, echoing whisper hidden inside the music.
Space & Drone: The music draws heavy inspiration from Krautrock and 1970s synthesizers to create a dreamy atmosphere
