Flat Earth Society ~ Waleeco ~ Fleetwood Compatible Stereo FCLP 3027 ~ 1968
Absolute keeper copy of this seminal Boston-area teen psych LP. Created as a premium for a candy bar company (each candy bar sold at the time would include a coupon to get the LP for $1.50 and six wrappers) , the band managed to create an album that shows a maturity and creative sense way beyond the covers-heavy albums made by many garage bands of the time. 10 of the 11 tracks are original compositions, and the one cover is a total rearrangement of the original song ("In the Midnight Hour"). Folk-rock, pop, garage rock and psychedelia are all covered in this album, and one listen explains why it is one of the most sought-after New England LP's of the era.
Exceptional copy being offered - cover is EX- with just some faint shelf wear really only visible on back, a ding along the top edge and some wear to the 2 open seams, but no splits. Really very flat, tight and handsome with the psychedelic front cover art clear and unblemished. Vinyl is EX- with just a few minor signs of play visible under bright light. Nice gloss, appears barely played. Really a stellar copy, by far best of the 3 that I have owned in the past 20 years!
