A cool Rock n Roll rarity here - an original ACETATE LP of the fab "Teenage Head" album by the Flamin' Groovies. Pressed at Bell Sound Studios, NYC. Most likely a very few of these were pressed initially and surely very few survive today. Acetate LP's are used as take home or "approval" copies for record execs, managers and band members. That is, before LP production they are checked to make sure all was good to go ahead and start pressing the LP that would go to stores. The dealer we bought this from claims this was the personal copy of Danny Mihm, the Flamin Groovies drummer. We have no way to prove that, however, unless you are familiar with Danny's handwriting! as the stock Transco Products outer sleeve contains handwritten titles, song credits etc... (I did note the name Stone is written on the labels) and twice on outer sleeve. I could not discern a big difference between this ACETATE and the finished LP, but am relying mostly on memory, as I don't have a Teenage Head LP at hand.
PLAY GRADE : VG+ sounds good - some light clicks and pops here and there. NO skips or sticks.
VISUAL GRADE: VG+ several light marks, one that is feelable.
COVER: VG stock Transco company sleeve has wear to corners, opening, bottom and sides seam have splits of a 1-3 inches.
LABELS: VG some evidence of play handling. "Stone" written on both sides in pencil, "Big Monkey" written in orange colored pencil on one side.
