Recorded live direct to disc in a Los Angeles club using the M&K RealTime Recording Process.
Featuring guitar, vocals, male & female dancers, castenets, palmas, drums.

Produced by Steve Katz (among other accomplishments, a founding member of Blood, Sweat & Tears, producer of Lou Reed, Horslips, and others, and once MD of Green Linnet Records, the traditional Irish music specialists).

For many years, Ken Kreisel has specialised in professional loudspeaker systems, especially subwoofers, and also unique high end direct-to-disc recordings. Among early projects, he created a custom loudspeaker system that was used in the mixing of Steely Dan’s album Pretzel Logic. He partnered with Jonas Miller to establish M&K RealTime Records, who also later pioneered digital recording and were the first label to release CDs, in the USA in 1982. In 1969 Miller opened one of the world’s first ultra-high-end audio salons (Jonas Miller Sound of Beverly Hills, California).
This very rare record was seemingly produced as a hi-fi test record in very small numbers and supplied with high-end audio systems. It features in The Absolute Sound (TAS) Super Disc list, not only in the top 100 audiophile records, but rated one of the best of the best!
Some audiophile collectors rate it as the best LP ever made by M&K, and thus one of the best ever sounding vinyl records. It's a wonderful recording in terms of sonic fidelity and staging - natural and transparent – a “must have” LP for serious audiophile music lovers. It's simply one of the best “live” recordings of all time – no editing or effects added, recorded using a German-built Neumann disc cutting lathe (pictured on the sleeve) for disc mastering. The recording method completely by-passed audio tape and fed the live microphone signal directly to the master disc cutting lathe, totally eliminating tape noise and distortion. The disc masters were then used to press the LP discs – producing a truly amazing sound quality.
The music is very much a traditional take on Flamenco, with very dynamic flamenco guitar and lots of foot stomping on a specially made stage. The singing shows the strong North African influence on the Southern Regions of Spain.
Record Condition: Near Mint, appears hardly played – 8-9/10.
Cover Condition: VG++, spine slightly scuffed a few centimetres at bottom edge – 8-9/10.
Orange label with 50Hz and 60Hz stroboscopic rings to visually indicate accuracy of turntable platter rotation speed.
There is the name “Terry” written lightly in ink on the side one label.
