Fizzy Cocktail 2 is a compilation LP featuring twelve rare,mod 60s tunes, such as Pete Terrace's Shot Gun.
Modbeganabout 1958 in London'seast end & Notting Hill focussed on music & fashion. Smart Italian tailor made suits & motor scooters (e.g. Lambrettas & Vespas) were thefashion. Originally these modernists listened to modern jazz, soul & rhythm& blues & ska. By about 1963English groups emerged copying the mods U.S. soul & R&B favourites.This later evolved into freakbeat (a term not used at the time) &psychedelia.
The 60smod scene was associated with clubs such as the Flamingo, Scene where amphetamine pills kept them awake &exaggerated stories of seaside clashes with rockers.
Bythe mid 60s Mod had become a UKwide movement, lost it's cult status & thus it's influence waned. To someextent the skinhead movement evolved from mod, whilst in the late 60s inthe north the mod music scene continuedat clubs such as the Twisted Wheel & by the early 70s had become NorthernSoul & which lasted considerably longer than mod.
