From a collector's vault, a 1953 78 RPM issue by the acclaimed Doo Wop artists, The Five Crowns.
Discogs: Without a hit record to their credit, The Five Crowns are considered the quintessential New York street corner sound of the early 50s. Many of the members of The Five Crowns went on to Join The Drifters. Members: James "Papa" Clark (Lead), Benjamin Earl Nelson "Ben E. King" (Second Tenor), Charlie Thomas (Tenor), Dock Green (Baritone), Elsbeary Hobbs (Bass)
Minimal surface noise, light crackling at times during quiet passages. Few scuffs, few scratches on each side. Sounds good. Pretty shiny still.

So be forewarned that the record may not be absolutely perfect in every way under expert visual or expert audiophile listening scrutiny. I am just an intelligent and cautious guy, reasoning out the clues and liquidating records as honestly as I can. Please understand that the records I am selling were not collected by me so I do not know their history. I am no kind of expert in music or records. I research each item for all the information in the post. These lesser known 78s on 45worlds dot com. I listen to all 45rpm and 78rpm records and parts of any 33rpm that looks potentially damaged. I judge 78s on the VJM Record Grading System and give the reasons for my rating so buyers can second guess me. I compare 78s to 78s, not to 45s or 33s. My quality ratings are not certified in any way. I sell in the belief that collectors of vintage records are more knowledgeable than me about what they collect and know what they are looking at. I am glad to answer any questions that could determine the authenticity of a version. If you assumed and didn't ask, don't blame me. Because collectors may know the true value of a record, while I do not, I start at a very reasonable price and let bidders set the true value, which is often much higher than I thought or much lower. If an item gets no bids the price is, in successive postings, systematically lowered by Ebay until I discard it even though I originally thought it was worth something. (Out to the trap range.)
