The FINGERS INC. story began in late 1983, when touring R'n'B/Jazz drummer Larry Heard was coaxed by family and friends into vinylising a tune he'd been fooling,around with called 'Mystery of Love'. Larry - known to his younger brother as 'Loose Fingers', due to his keyboard playing style - felt that the song demanded a singer, and local D.J. Robert Owens was the man. So Mr. fingers became FINGERS INC. and, in April '86, 'Mystery of Love' was released, charting at No. 10 in Billboards Black Dance Chart.
Their debut album 'Another Side' is a milestone in 'House' on two accounts...It has not only broken the barrier of 'House' compilations albums, but it has created a precedence for Chicago House Acts to deal directly with outside labels...
