Ferras Tortelier Brahms Double Concerto Vinyl LP ASD 549 White/Gold Stereo 1964.

This record sometimes sells for over £100.

I have played this all the way through and it is very good, with generally great sound quality with a few flaws which I will describe in the interests of accuracy. I’m not a record expert so it is my own description, and the record player I used is not especially sophisticated. I have not tried to clean it for fear of doing more harm than good.

Visually the record is good with a few surface scratches.

Side 1 plays very well with a couple of light pops near the beginning, and it sticks in one place just before the end. In between it is very great condition and the quiet sections sound good.

Side two is mostly very good but there are 5 or 6 louder pops and in one place a scratch is audible for 3 or 4 revolutions.

The cover is sound and undamaged with a little surface wear as per photos, but no creases or tears.

The inner sleeve is in very good condition - I’m assuming it is not the original HMV issue.

Low starting price as it is not perfect, but I suspect it is as good or almost as good as some of those on sale or sold for much more.
