Description
Here is a wonderful copy of a "holy grail" classical LP - Gounod FAUST / Bizet CARMEN performed by the Royal Opera House with Alexander Gibson conducting. Original Deep Groove "Shaded Dog" pressing. Early matrix numbers L2 RY2148-1S A1 on side one, L2 RY2149-1S A3 on side two. Both sides contain a 1 at 3/6 o'clock denoting early stamper... a superb, full bodied pressing of this classic.
VINYL: NM Gorgeous as new shine to vinyl. No marks visible at all on side one. Plays well with only a very faint tic on lead in grooves, very faint here and there later on occasion. Play grades NM as well. Side two is visually NM, but a light whisp tics a few times at intro, and a small non feelable scratch near end of Carmen, does tic on several rotations, play grades VG+. Still a superior and dynamic listening experience. Absolutely no distortion and near silent passages throughout.... Surely few have survived in this condition!!
COVER: VG+ Image looks great, very light age dusting to both sides, but a fine cover. No ringwear. Corners are mildly bumped and top left corner is split and goes down to beginning of title. Small pen / stamp marks to top rear - see photos.
LABEL: NM no writing and no marks or signs of wear near spindle hole.
