Description
For sale is this wonderful vintage LP of FACES - LONG PLAYER on Warner Bros. Records 1971. This copy is the 1971 U.K. 1st pressing. It features a unique vintage 78 Style die-cut cardboard sleeve with stitched seams with specially designed vintage Warner Bros. labels to the disc. The catalogue number is WS 3011. The matrices are hand etched and are as follows:
Side One: WS 3011 A1 Side Two: WS 3011 B1
Condition*:
The sleeve is VG+. The vintage card shows only very light signs of handling. The blue printed text is clear and unworn. There is a slight crease to the top L/H corner. But for a small tear along the stitched seam top R/H side (pictured) this would be graded a strong EX. Overall a very good example of this very fragile sleeve.
The disc is graded EX. The surfaces are glossy and dark. The labels are near perfect. The record is very clean. Under harsh light there are only a few very light marks visible. The disc has been played through from start to finish and plays beautifully with very little surface noise even between tracks. There is one very short deeper scratch (final picture) angled obliquely across the closing minute or so of Track B1 "Had Me A Real Good Time" which looked worrying but although it is tangible with the fingernail test was not audible on either speakers or headphones. Overall a really super copy of this excellent Faces record.

*Please note: Grading vinyl is a highly subjective thing. For this reason I have given a detailed description of all the flaws I was able to see or hear. I am not a professional. I am just selling a small number of records. I have given an honest appraisal based on careful visual inspection and thorough play testing. I do try to describe all significant faults and where possible photograph them and I certainly won't intentionally hide anything. Please read the description carefully, look at the pictures and make your own mind up. The grading scale I have used goes from G to NM with VG+ as par. In other words: Good (G), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Excellent (EX) and Near Mint (NM). Anything better than that would be Mint and would be listed as new. Anything worse than Good I probably wouldn't be selling.
