Description

Beethoven Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, op. 125 played by soloists: Elisabeth Schwarzkopf (soprano), Hans Hopf (tenor), Elisabeth Hongen (contralto), Otto Edelmann (bass) and the Orchestra and Chorus of the 1951 Bayreuth Festival conducted by Wilhelm FURTWANGLER. Recorded in the Festspielhaus Bayreuth in August 1951 and published with permission of Wieland and Wolfgang Wagner and Frau Elisabeth Furtwangler. A thrue collector's item! Original 12" vinyl complete 2LP set first UK pressing on His Master's Voice ALP 1286 & ALP 1287 red/gold beautiful mono sounding labels, matrix nos 2XRA 16/17/18 and 19. Both of covers are in superb glossy condition with no ringwear, no scuffs or writings, only two-three very small edge wear marks, Excellent !  Records are also in a great Excellent condition !

Adds to this item: Both records have R/T stamps  on labels outside the spindle hole which proofs that they are the first UK press, also- both records are stored in the plastic bags with red/black "MADE IN ENGLAND" stamps !
