Heading the album with the intense rave-up, "Psychotic Reaction", San Jose's- Count Five were never applauded with the same accolades as many of the other mid-sixties garage bands. The track wasn't the standard three minute rock and roll number. The fuzz tone of the guitar and the catchy beat held listeners clamoring for more. What they got was an album filled with raw garage punk/beat, savage and pulsating teen sensations layered with melodic edges, even if nothing could ever hope to top the timelessly sensational 'Psychotic Reaction' -- anyone into this stuff is almost guaranteed to love tracks like 'Double Decker Bus", "Peace Of Mind", They're Gonna Get You" and their takes on the British Invasion Kinks & Who covers ... The Count Five didn't get the legend of the Chocolate Watchband, but it's arguable that the Watchband never scored a track so emotional as 'Psychotic Reaction' (although 'Sitting There Standing' is right close) ... even 44 years after the fact, almost any sixties fan will brighten up and want to hear more of the Count Five and their classic garage album from 1966...

CONDITION: The cover: rated: near M- clean front cover with 1 minor scuff. Flat, square with sharp corners and fresh colors, 53 years onward as a first pressing! The back cover is minty clean with exception of bottom corner *(back only!) where there is the original 1966 store sticker and light discoloration along edges in same area (see photos!) Overall the front & back are ultimately solid , looking nice as a 1966 original pressing! There are no bends, split seams, no fades, no writing... no delete marks
The vinyl: Rated: near M- all shiny clean and solid : a great copy that plays strong M- all the way!!! The original 'Double Shot' labels are very clean = look!
