We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE Original 1967 first pressing of a highly interesting electrified psychedelic rock outfit with the unlikely name of the Mecki Mark Men ....

Mecki Mark Men were Swedens first Psychedelia band and this debut album from 1967 is so psychedelic and wasted that even the hardcore of both US and German Psych bands would be green with envy. The base is jazzy avantgarde like rock with wasted out there vocals and psyched out structures combined with sitar drone. This is not garagey jingle jangle pop psych of 1967 but hardcore acid psychedelia that became more the norm in the late 60's and early 70's than in 1967.

This debut album is a cornerstone of Swedish underground psychedelia and one of the earliest (and most brilliant) psych-rock albums of Scandinavia (released in late 67), when they were at the height of their popularity which sounded excitingly new at the time. This self titled album is a stunning often overlooked gem. The group had backed up Frank Zappa and Jimi Hendrix in their country and obviously the two strongly influenced Mecki Mark Men a fair bit, especially with leader Mecki Bodemark's vocals, when you'd swear it is Jimi singing. Apparently, the group set the studio a bit like a stage and recorded most of this album as direct-live, just dubbing vocals, vibraphones, flute and sitars later. One of the features of Mecki Mark Men is that there were two drummers: the full-time Fredholm and the part-time (playing vibes and sitar as well) Gartz, who was the second songwriter in the band

Opening (that's also the first track's name) on some phantasmagorical noises from organ and winds, with the beat is a spell-binding slow but drumroll filled almost dies, before catching its final breath and finally lays itself to rest. Whether it is Get Up or I Got It or other Sweet Movin might seem fairly straight forward, but there are always tons of small things happening that this is not basic pop or rock music. Other more experimental tracks like Free (and its great sitar strumming), Scream (some fantastic psych delirium throughout the song and at the end), Enlightenment (!) with the works of Thomas Gartz provides much of the adventurous spirit of the album.
