Fruupp ? "Future Legends" Dawn DNLS 3053 UK 1st press Vinyl, LP, housed in a gate-fold sleeve and released on a ''sunrise'' Dawn label in 1973.
The vinyl appears to have been lightly played and is in great condition. It played through beautifully on my elderly stereo - no hop, stick or jump. The textured gate-fold sleeve shows minimal signs of wear and is also in great condition - no rips or writing. The spine is intact and legible. "Future Legends" is the debut studio album by North Irish progressive rock band Fruupp. Recorded in July 1973 and produced by Denis Taylor, it was released on 5 October in the United Kingdom on the Dawn Records label, a subsidiary of Pye Records for underground and progressive rock music. To promote the album, the band undertook a two-month tour which finished on 29 November with a concert in The Whitla Hall, Belfast where they played with the Ulster Youth Orchestra.
AllMusic Review by Paul Collins "A strong debut effort that, despite some searing guitar work by Vince McCusker and a well-placed howl by Peter Farelly in "Decision," remains a strangely low-key work. This may be due to the contemplative nature of Stephen Houston's keyboard and string parts. The erstwhile title tracks that bookend the album are instrumental throwaways, but several of the intervening numbers are impressive in their range and instrumental prowess. "Olde Tyme Future" is an ultimately hopeful elegy for an Irish homeland that seems unable to escape its own bitter past, alternating stark vocals and organ-driven instrumentals. "Song for Thought" uses the old progressive structure of spiraling fugues easing into slow blues on the verses, and it works wonderfully here."
