Various : From the Cold Jaws of Prison LP (Folkways [USA] FH 5403) 1972.

Record and cover (still in shrink) are Near Mint (our highest grade for an opened record). With insert (also NM).

Superb copy of this scarce 1972 Folkways LP of poems and songs by inmates and ex-inmates of Attica, Rikers Island, and the Tombs, complied by Department of Correction music director Attilio Cantore and produced by his "Soul Rock from the Rock" organization. As far as we can tell from the notes, the only credited performers/authors are Obawayo ("Cathedral", "The Junkie", "A Word to the Hip"), Ronnie Reed ("An Open Letter"), and Russel Mayberry ("I'm a Dreamer"). The other performers are uncredited.
