Description

FROGGIE BEAVER - FROM THE POND

Rare 1973 U.S. private pressing psych/prog gem with impressive audio quality being the highlight

Year/Label : 1973 U.S. FROGGIE BEAVER Label number : dsi 7301 Matrix numbers :  DSI : 1 7301 F1 #1, DSI : 2 7301 F1 #1 all etched and with "METRO" and "wly" on side 1 run-off
Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl -  completely flat, weighty and retaining it's original and impressive jet black sheen. Little marked and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that just a few extremely light paper scuffs and a couple of equally faint scuff lines can be identified on each side - each non-obvious and certainly non-feelable, superficial and not impinging upon the excellent STEREO sound quality.  Very good (VG) condition labels : there are just 3 or 4 small and very light spindle trails on each label, again indicating that this record has only been sparing played; but there are also some noticeable scuff marks on each label also (see photos), barely impacting upon the label text at all but still noticeable. Hence the slightly below par "VG" grading.  Very good plus (VG+) condition non-laminated outer sleeve manufactured from nice thick cardboard and with no creases and impressively firm edges throughout. There are a few minor blemishes, however : some intermittent and very light scuff marks on all edges including the spine though the spine text itself is largely intact and remains readable, some light rubbing on and adjacent to each corner though the corners themselves remain nicely defined right angles, some very light ring wear towards the top and the bottom of the front side, and some sellotape towards the top and bottom of the spine edge and 4cm along the top edge from the spine end - very neatly done, so neat and non-obvious in fact that I am not absolutely convinced that it was not part of the manufacturing process rather than the work of a previous owner. The colours, art work, and sleeve text each remain in great shape, with no unwanted writing, scuffing, or handling/storage marks.  Excellent (EX) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks (apart from 2 or 3 almost inaudible very, very light background clicks towards the very end of side 2), distortion, or interference and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum - negligible in fact. Every track remains a great listen. Comes with original and possibly unique brown paper inner sleeve with no seam splits or creasing.  Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    A nice copy of this long deleted and extremely rare U.S. 1st pressing with the excellent sound quality being the true highlight : an inventive, long lost psych gem!
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £10 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £16 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
