OVERSTOCK ALERT!!!!
This week I have a large amount of overstock of the UTMOST rarity! And there is some truly SUPERB items here - some of which are even completely UNIQUE! Of course - I will be doing my usual amount of auctions (all ending every Sunday as usual!) - but because I have a few extra items, I have decided to list the excess overstock as a Buy It Now! And these 'buy it now' listings come from 2 very different sources:-
1) An Ex Music Producer who worked for the BBC in the 1960s & 1970s:- Items from this collection are either TEST PRESSINGS, Factory Samples, or other similar Promotional items of the UTMOST RARITY!!!!
2) Music I dont usually sell in my auctions:- Any type of music I dont usually sell in my auctions, I have decided to list as a buy it now.
So in short - there are some truly SPECTACULAR items on my buy it now listings, and definitely NO dross AT ALL!!!!
DETAILS ABOUT GRADING & BACKGROUND ON MY BUY IT NOW AUCTIONS (Please read!)
Obviously it is in both my interest and the buyers interest to grade CORRECTLY! So I grade EVERYTHING standing on a chair directly under a 150 watt bulb which reveals everything! Therefore if I grade a record 'VG' - it does NOT mean it is 'covered in scuffing and marks' - it will still be a VERY clean looking record indeed, and often barely played! For example - if I hold a record under light and see a lovely black sheen, but a few of the VERY lightest paper scuffs, and 2 or 3 VERY light lines - I will still ONLY grade the record VG+. So whilst you shouldnt expect MINT from my 'VG' records - you should still expect a VERY clean & bright looking record indeed! And even my records graded only 'Good' or Good+' will be VERY presentable playable examples indeed! And if I list a record in the condition most LPs seem to be in today (namely covered in general light scuffing - but still plays through absolutely fine with a few crackles & pops) - then I would ONLY grade this record Fair or even Poor+. So I am very VERY strict on grading indeed - and almost NEVER use an Excellent grading unless the record looks virtually 'factory fresh' under light! PLEASE ALSO NOTE - obviously as there are a lot of buy it nows being listed, I have had no time to play every groove on every record (that would be impossible!), so I have given a visual grading + play checked sound quality in snippets. However it is very VERY easy to spot any sounding marks under light, and these were checked to make sure they did not jump or stick. That said - quite a few of the Buy It Nows I am listing look like they just came from the Factory and are in AMAZING condition! In short - if you buy one of my records, and expect the grade given you should be very pleasantly surprised indeed! And in the unlikely event of a problem, any purchase is also covered by a refund including postage.
I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO PRICE THESE RECORDS TO SELL - AND HAVE NOT SET THE 'BUY IT NOW' PRICE SLIGHTLY 'HIGH' HOPING THAT BEST OFFERS (USING THE EBAY 'BEST OFFER' FUNCTION) COME IN AT 'ABOUT THE RIGHT PRICE'.... I WANT TO GET THESE RECORDS SHIFTED QUICKLY! BE AWARE THOUGH - THAT SOME OF THESE ITEMS MAY WELL FLY OUT IMMEDIATELY AT THE 'BUY IT NOW' PRICE ALONE (AS THEY ARE PRICED UP VERY CHEAPLY INDEED IN COMPARISON WITH THEIR EXTREME RARITY!), SO YOU MAY WELL HAVE TO BE QUICK! IN SHORT - I HAVE TRIED TO GRADE VERY STRICTLY INDEED - AND PRICE THESE RECORDS TO GO!
So please buy with absolute confidence and take a look at this GREAT item on offer below:-
RARITY:- Undoubtedly one of the RAREST King Crimson related LPs EVER listed! Robert Fripp was of course in King Crimson, and Brian Eno is a tremendously important musician - playing with many bands & artists throughout the 1970s, 80s and up to the present day! And it is truthfully almost certainly UNIQUE! This LP was specially made for approval by the Island label prior to the order given to release the LP! The record has 'Test Press' plain white labels on either side - and A1/B1 matrixes! THESE LABELS ARE UNIQUE TO 'PRE-APPOVED' TEST PRESS COPIES ONLY - AND ALMOST NEVER SEEN ON THIS LP! IN FACT, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN 'TEST PRESS' LABELS ON THIS LP EVER! Finding a Test Press record for this LP is hard enough - but this LP is made even rarer still, as it has its ORIGINAL 'Plain White' TEST PRESS COVER aswell! All Test Pressings originally came with Plain White 'Test Press' Covers - but many get swopped for Stick covers which badly de-values them and makes them far less sought after! THIS LP ALSO HAS AN ADDED BONUS OF A 'SIGNED' BRIAN ENO INVOICE - FROM JUST AFTER THE TIME OF THIS LPs RELEASE! So perhaps this suggests that this LP could have even been in his hands at some point? Maybe even his own copy once upon a time? Who can say for sure. But the 'Maidstone College Of Art' invoice is TREMENDOUSLY important! Brian Eno was paid by the College for an appearance, and this invoice was signed by Brian Eno himself! The letter even says 'if you will sign and return 2 copies of this letter' - so it is likely this one was a spare copy - with the other one being returned to the College. Either way - you cannot get MORE authentic and 100% GENIUNE than this! WHAT AN AMAZING INSERT TO FIND INSIDE THIS LP!!!! BARELY ANY OF THESE CAN POSSIBLY EXIST TODAY (100% COMPLETE WITH TEST PRESS RECORD & TEST PRESS COVER!) - AND THIS LP IS ALMOST CERTAINLY UNIQUE (ESPECIALLY WITH THE INSERT!). THIS IS UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF THE RAREST EVER FRIPP & ENO / BRIAN ENO / KING CRIMSON RELATED LPs EVER TO BE OFFERED FOR SALE - AND THE CHANCES OF EVER FINDING ANOTHER ONE AGAIN IS VIRTUALLY ZERO!
COUNTRY:- UK
MONO/STEREO:- STEREO (there were NO Monos)
PRESSING:- EARLIEST POSSIBLE 'PRE-APPROVED' 1ST PRESSING - 'TEST PRESS' LABELS & 'TEST PRESS' COVER + 'SIGNED' INVOICE!
MATRIXES:- STAMPED 'HELP 22 A1' & 'HELP 22 B1' UK 1ST PRESS MATRIXES! ALSO HAS 'GM' STAMPED IN THE RUN OFF GROOVES, AND 1/A 2/A UK 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS MOTHER & STAMPER CODINGS!
ARTIST:- FRIPP & ENO
TITLE:- EVENING STAR
CAT NUMBER:- HELP 22
LABEL:- ISLAND
DATE:- 1975
SIGNS OF PLAY:- BARELY ANY!
LABELS:- NM!
RECORD GRADING:- VERY strictly graded VG++ if not better (Graded directly under a 150 watt bulb!) and is very VERY bright & shiny looking indeed! And most I am certain would grade even high still! A VERY nice example - with NO scratches, NO hairlines, only 3 or 4 VERY light scufflines, and only a VERY few of the light paper scuffs only visible under light! It is also GREAT to find that the record plays as BRILLIANTLY as the visual! It plays with NO skips, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO jumps, NO sticks, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some typical slight background sound often found on this type of LP! A very VERY nice record indeed and VERY strictly graded!
INNER:- PLAIN NM
COVER GRADING:- AMAZING and EXTREMELY RARE 'Test Press' cover is in BRILLIANT condition! It has NO rips, NO tears, NO sticker tears, NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, NO splits, only VERY slight corner wear, barely ANY creases AT ALL, NO ringwear, NO grubbyness, barely ANY yellowing AT ALL, and NO rubbing! Has VERY faded writing 'HELP 22' & '9/75' in the top right corner on the cover front! This writing is almost CERTAINLY 100% ORIGINAL from the Factory in 1975 - and the date is 2 months prior to the release date! Next to this in the same place is written 'FRIPP & ENO' "EVENING STAR". This is in black biro - and is probably later than the Factory writing, as it is in a different hand, different colour and is more pronounced. On the reverse of the cover - the track listing, title & artist is written faintly in pencil - this looks old, is probably from the factory (or reviewing it for the first time) and in any case could easily be removed / erased by the winning bidder if so wished! The ULTRA RARE 'Earliest' 1st Press PROOF Cover must grade VG++ if not better! A BRILLIANT CONDITIONED COVER!
DEFECTS OUTSIDE OF THE GRADE GIVEN:- N/A

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items (I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!) - PLEASE REMEMBER to contact with me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again - Graham @ XXXRecords.
PLEASE NOTE - Private feedback bidders must consult me first prior to bidding - due to previous problems regarding non-payment, and non-receipt. MY POSTAGE UNDERCHARGE GUARANTEE TO ALL BUYERS (I always undercharge on postage!):- Due to UK Royal Mail's obscene price increases this year - I have had no choice but to increase postage charges a little. Until this year - I had kept them exactly the same since I joined ebay back in 2002. However this years price increases have been so obscene, that I have had no choice but to increase my postage charges for the first time ever. However PLEASE NOTE - my absolute 100% guarantee to you as a buyer - is that I will ALWAYS undercharge postage on everything I send out. Even after the increases, I am still charging you the buyer LESS than I am being charged myself. On each package I send out - the price is clearly stated on the front of the package (please check it when you recieve it!). I also do NOT charge for packaging costs - ONLY for postal costs! And should you find that I have overcharged you postage in ANY way - I will refund DOUBLE the difference. THAT IS MY 100% POSTAL GUARANTEE FOR EACH AND EVERY BUYER! No buyer EVER deserves to be overcharged on postage - and on my listings, I'll make sure they are ALWAYS undercharged. Any questions - please ask!
