Another from my personal collection! An awesome original (MONO UK pressing The rarest and most sought after to find rather than the more common stereo pressings) For any of those who know the records that I list on ebay would know my prime interest is the audio quality! I rarely list on this site any records that are less than near mint, Although there is general light ware and storageware with age on the cover and the vinyl has been played a few times but the vinyl has been well cared for and I have decided to list this album for its rarety being the rare mono 1st and for the fact that the audio is truly exceptional and vibrant throughout so rare to find after 43 years old ! Played at loud volume on a top system using a dedicated mono cartridg this is certainly an exceptional and awesome sounding original pressing! This has a true bassey feel and plays through with out any real problems that I heard!! THE AUDIO IS RATED AT THE VERY TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES! THIS IS HIGHLY COLLECTABLE AND SOUGHT AFTER LIKE THIS !!! UNBELEIVABLY 38 YEARS OLD ORIGINAL MONO!!!!!!
Cream were a 1960s British rock band consisting of bassist/lead vocalist Jack Bruce, guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker. Their sound was characterised by a hybrid of blues, hard rock and psychedelic rock Cream combined Clapton's blues guitar playing with the powerful voice and intense basslines of Jack Bruce and the jazz-influenced drumming of Ginger Baker. They have sold over 35 million albums worldwide. Wheels of Fire was the world's first platinum-selling double album!!!.
Cream's music included songs based on traditional blues such as "Crossroads" and "Spoonful", and modern blues such as "Born Under a Bad Sign", as well as more eccentric songs such as "Strange Brew", "Tales of Brave Ulysses" and "Toad". Cream's biggest hits were "I Feel Free" (UK, #11), "Sunshine of Your Love" (US, #5), "White Room" (US, #6), "Crossroads" (US, #28), and "Badge"!!!.
Cream, together with The Jimi Hendrix Experience, made a significant impact upon the popular music of the time, providing a heavy yet technically proficient musical theme that foreshadowed the emergence of bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and The Jeff Beck Group in the late 1960s. The band's live performances influenced progressive rock acts such as Rush, jam bands such as The Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead and Phish, and heavy metal bands such as Black Sabbath!!!!.
Fresh Cream is Cream's December 1966 debut album. It was the first LP release of producer Robert Stigwood's new "Independent" Reaction Records label. It reached number 6 in the UK and - eventually - number 39 in the US. The British version omitted "I Feel Free" (then their current single), while the US version contained it, though it dropped "Spoonful". The CD re-issue of 2000 preserves both songs in the album's running order!!!!!
- "I Feel Free" (Jack Bruce, Pete Brown) – 2:51
- "N.S.U." (Bruce) – 2:43
- "Sleepy Time Time" (Bruce, Janet Godfrey) – 4:20
- "Dreaming" (Bruce) – 1:58
- "Sweet Wine" (Ginger Baker, Godfrey) – 3:17
- "Spoonful" (Willie Dixon) – 6:30
- "Cat's Squirrel" (Traditional, arr. S. Splurge) – 3:03
- "Four Until Late" (Robert Johnson, arr. Eric Clapton) – 2:07
- "Rollin' and Tumblin'" (Muddy Waters) – 4:42
- "I'm So Glad" (Skip James) – 3:57
- "Toad" (Baker) – 5:11
The Vinyl
On visual inspection this vinyl looks superbe, Please note, this has been played a few times ! This is the original heavier thicker type of vinyl with deeper grooves only found on these original 1st pressings!!! They are also more robust than later pressings which were more flimsier!!!! In strong light only can very few light whispy surface marks\scratches be seen Please note! Cesrtainly (no) marks that are audio sounding that I heard that would produce any loud clicks during the audio at all! I have played this through track for track as usual and the audio is rated at the top! with very (very) little interfearance! This is cristal clear and vibrant through out. This plays with (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed!!!! I would class myself as highly critacle! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!!!! Audio is graded at the top!!! You will find the audio quality on this vinyl hard to surpass!!!!!
The Audio Quality
I have played this vinyl through at loud volume on a top system using a dedicated mono cartridge! The first important thing to note is that this plays through without any distortion or signs that this has been over played! Amaizingly I heard (no) loud clicks or pops during the audio and any interfearance very very minimal and nothing at all that detracts from the cristal clear and very vibrant ausdio that I heard! I would grade the audio at least excellent to excellent plus! Quite amaizing for this very rare mono 1st!
Please note! I always make this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio! Although i never heard any real major problems at all and have given my honest opinion, this is a genuine 43 year old vinyl mono (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 43 year old system!!!!
Please note! This has been stored in a case for at least 25 years! Any static crackle that might be heard during some quiet parts could be minimised by constant cleaning before each play in my experiance!, Build up of dust and dirt that has accumilated over the years of the vinyl being stored laying dormant causes most of this problem so please allow for some light static crackle as previously mentioned!!!!! I would class myself as highly critical ! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!!!!!
