FREEDOM’S CHILDREN – Astra- South African gatefold original 1st pressing on Parlophone PCSJ 12075 from 1970- Heavy wah-wah fuzz led guitar rock of the highest order. Simply one of the best heavy psyched albums to come out of South Africa or in fact the world! Phased-out vocals, heavy as lead thumping rhythms on the bass and drums and guitars that weave in and out of the tracks like a madman on acid. Absolute must hear! Cover is just VG+ which is usual for this sort of material. The always present lamination problem and spine crackle. The inside of gatefold is super clean and grades EX but due do the lamination problem i downgraded the whole thing to VG+. Vinyl has mostly superficial hairlines and light marks. To stay on the safe side i’ll grade VG+, though it plays better; This is another monster rarity that was featured in Pokora’s 1001 page 111 with 5 stars + the special masterpiece symbol;
